With a comprehensive brief and clear requirements, the refurbishment of the Northwest Trucks workshop and buildings was one that was completed to a high spec.
Firstly, the existing roof structure was removed, and a new extended height roof was added with reinforced cross beams to provide greater support. This allowed the new roof to be raised to allow for vehicle cabs to be tilted and worked on in the workshop area.
Roller shutter doors were removed and replaced to make all the doorways the same height.
Work was done on the concrete yards which used double mesh reinforced concrete with expansion joints and drainage.
Finally, the team installed two new mezzanine floors – one in the workshop and the other adjacent to the newly designed entrance and carried out modifications to the offices to add a new lift.
